We fell in love with the general shape of the Miss Limestone right from the start but went back and forth on whether it should be a coat or a cardigan. In the end we decided there HAD to be a way to make it work as either one. As a coat it works well… Continue reading The Miss Limestone Coat/Cardigan
We have Birch and with its relaxed fit and quick construction my own closet is starting to show that Tundra has some competition.
For quite a while now we've had people ask us to please make a jogger in the Junior Miss size range (since we already have the Railway Joggers in our girls size range). The Trail Joggers were our answer to that request and we decided to make it in both the Junior Miss (size 0-20)… Continue reading Trail Joggers
This newest pattern is another woven dress for the store. Woven dresses have never been the “Sofiona thing”, but every once in awhile we get in the mood for a dress. This one was inspired by linen...
Who doesn't love a good jean skirt? WE sure do so it was about time we added one to our lineup. Our hope is that it can become a good foundation for many Sofiona outfits. (Did you catch what I did there? "foundation"....."bedrock" skirt.......if no one else I at least entertain myself.) Photo: Trish The… Continue reading Bedrock Skirt
We don't often have (take) the time to work on extra projects. The time it takes just to work on the ideas in our heads is non-existent so we rarely feel like shifting focus. I need to remember these moments are part of a journey and what overwhelms me today may not be so intimidating in a year or so. Timing really is everything.
This pattern started off as an idea for a shirt, but quickly extended into a dress too so it could be a full outfit. The idea was to create something cozy but with a clean elegant look to it. The knit fabric and slightly loose fit provide the "cozy" while the high neckline, bishop sleeves… Continue reading Caribou
I feel like these latest 2 releases finish off a year or more of work. Even though I've worked on other patterns throughout this time, Clover and Rose Hip have been on my work "desk" the whole time. The girls' version came out in Spring of 2020 and now we have the junior miss versions. I'm ready to relive some of my less tragic 80's moments in this slightly retro style.
I love holiday dresses. There's just something exciting about making something fancy and perhaps a little over the top...even if it's not totally practical. For a couple years now I've wanted to design a dress that would work for everyday, but also have the look and feel of something that could be "glammed up". Since… Continue reading The Cranberry Dress
